Mid May 2012, the first automated precast plant started operation in Singapore. Robin Village Developments Pte. Ltd ("Robin Village") is whollyowned by Tiong Seng Holdings Limited, one of the leading building construction and civil engineering contractors in Singapore. Tiong Seng is active in Singapore, China and Papua New Guinea, and they own among many other companies also the company Cobiax that is licensing weight reducing void formers for concrete slabs. Tiong Seng decided to improve precast construction in Singapore because the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore (BCA) set up a program to cultivate a highly-integrated and technologically advanced construction sector headed by progressive firms and supported by a askilled and competent workforce by 2020. Their new plant completely fulfilled the government's expectations and the decision was awarded with up to S$1 million funding by the BCA in January 2011.
