Offshore assets on the seabed, such as power- or communications-cables, require protection and stabilization. Concrete Mattresses are widely used wherever trenching and burying of the cables at a designed depth is not feasible. Concrete Mattresses come in varying designs, sizes, and concrete density, depending on the application and the environmental (metocean) conditions. Strong waves and currents can lift and shift massive concrete mattresses on the seabed like a leaf in the wind, if they are not properly engineered and tested to match the local conditions.
