Founded in 1947 by Alois Luiki, the family-owned company Luiki Betonwerke in Leoben, Austria, has over the years developed into an established expert producer in the field of precast concrete elements for civil engineering projects and outdoor facilities. The product range includes concrete ring elements, paving and masonry blocks, various garden design elements, as well as structural components for building construction and special civil engineering applications. Since 2020, the company has been part of the Kirchdorfer Group. This is intended to support the continuation of the company’s successful path in the spirit of the founding family and to secure the long-term future of the production plant. Two years later, the company was integrated into the civil engineering division of Kirchdorf Concrete Solutions, Tiba Austria GmbH, under whose name production is now carried out in Leoben. A new product range was introduced to the manufacturing plant this year: wood-concrete blocks, which are used in the construction of sound barriers. The wood-concrete composite elements have a wavy form with open porosity, which ensures very good sound absorption. On completion of the curing process, the wood-concrete blocks need to be calibrated on the joint surfaces to ensure they can later be installed without any difficulties. The fully automatic feeding of the calibration line is carried out by a robot from the company S.T.I. from Leibnitz, Austria. In another fully automated production step, a second S.T.I. robot behind the grinding line then packages the processed blocks onto wooden pallets.
