At a time when high labour costs and a shortage of skilled workers are having a major impact on the construction industry, the need to optimise and automate production processes is becoming increasingly urgent. The innovative concept for the automation of reinforcement production in precast concrete plants presented in this article addresses precisely these challenges and offers medium-sized companies with an annual turnover of 12 to 25 million euros an efficient and economical solution - this concept enables a reduction in labour costs for steel processing to around 220 €/tonne.
