Construction industry needs new solutions to solve the issues related to CO2 emissions. The solutions include the use of smarter structural design and the use of low-carbon materials, which could be facilitated by the use of 3D printing technology. Based on the recent studies and experiments, this technology, particularly in foundation structures, have been proven to be beneficial and at the same time technically feasible. This technology can be seen as a supplement for traditional precast technologies.
