CTS Cordes, based in Senden near Münster, Germany, was awarded a contract in April 2020 to supply segment sealing gaskets for constructing a subway tunnel under the Brisbane River in Australia. This double-tube, 5.9 km long tunnel section is the centrepiece of a new inner-city railway line that will connect the neighbourhoods of Bowen Hills in the north and Dutton Park in the south with four new stations along a total length of 10.2 km. The total construction cost is approximately 5.3 billion Australian dollars.
