One of the biggest recent constructions in the Croatian city of Zagreb was the “Arena Zagreb”. This multi-purpose arena was planned for cultural and sporting events and shall be inaugurated in January 2009 for the upcoming handball world cup. The frame construction is based on pre-fabricated, reinforced concrete columns. The challenge for the involved construction companies was to produce these pre-cast units in high quality and to ensure safe, efficient and stable erection. Particularly the HCC column shoe system met the high demands regarding quality and mounting procedure.
