Within the last years, increasing sound levels have resulted in a growing need of builders to undertake appropriate measures for providing most efficient sound protection. In order to be able to enjoy silent moments within one’s own walls, it is recommended to define sound insulation requirements during the planning phase in the building specification. The existing standard DIN 4109 regulates sound insulation measures defined in the building code, however, it currently only complies with minimum requirements.
