Removal Agent for Lime Efflorescence

Comparison of Treatment Effectiveness

This article came about as an answer to the chemical agents offered with increasing frequency on the market for removing lime efflorescence. The problem with white efflorescence on the surface of concrete products, mostly manufactured using a dry cast process, has been known for a number of years. Concrete technology appropriately geared to this problem can reduce the amount of efflorescence to a minimum but cannot entirely exclude it. End consumers are disappointed about white efflorescence on their paving block areas. It is then pointed out to them that this is the natural behaviour of concrete and therefore presents no ground for reclamation. It is no rarity in the end for customers to invest in cleansing agents, which, according to advertising, completely remove efflorescence.
