Concreting with formwork standing upright on its side has continued to evolve over the last few years in manufacturing precast concrete staircases. In first place, the utilisation of self-compacting concrete and then the desire to give staircases a smooth all-round finish from the formwork are the main reasons for this. In recent years, Howal GmbH has made new and further advances in the development of two formwork systems – Variotop-SP and Scalaplura – to facilitate this evolution.
