The Korbwand® System from Rapperstorfer Automation has been in operation at MABA for a few weeks now. CPI Concrete Plant International has already been able to gain an exclusive glimpse behind the curtains. How the machine functions will be explained in more detail in a two part report. The innovative system makes it possible for the first time to manufacture concrete reinforcing cages fully automatically and individually in lot size one. This means that the Korbwand shows great potential for improving production processes particularly in manufacturing precast components. Solidly welding the bars connecting the individual meshes gives a double cage wall greater stability whilst saving on material at the same time. The chaos of bars between the meshes is replaced by a precisely designated amount. The system was developed by Hubert Rapperstorfer and his team from Rapperstorfer Automation. He received valuable assistance right from the outset from MABA, the precast component manufacturer.
