Damage to the edges of paving stones bears a considerable potential for disputes, for which reason the MPVA Neuwied GmbH has conducted two research projects into the edge stability of concrete paving stones in the last two years and reported on the results in [L 13] and [L 14]. The following article is intended to provide information about the proper assessment of technical defects and the potential causes of edge damage occurring in objects, taking into consideration the planning, execution and use of the pavements. Beyond that, it is intended to show that the cause of edge damage to paving stones is not necessarily the fault of the paving stone manufacturers.
