Expanded clay aggregate was developed in Kansas City, for the first time and is known as Hylite. Nowadays, it is produced in different coun- tries under the brands like Ceramsite, Granoloux, Isotag, Aardelite, Liapour, Stalite, Lytag and Leca®. Leca LWA was initially developed in Denmark in 1939 to provide lightweight brick and blocks. Leca has found its way into almost every aspect of modern life.
