Like many coastal cities, Helsinki has rediscovered the advantages of its location on the water and has banished industrial port use to the periphery. The former industrially used area is to be upgraded by exclusive residential developments. The new residential area of Jätkäsaari is being built on a peninsula near the former port. The new residential complex Länsisatamankatu 23 with its unique façade is already vis- ible from a distance.
