Building facades using precast concrete panels has interesting advantages such as high speed, quality and geometrical freedom. But when one build edifices which exploit all these advantages to their maximum, all the professionals involved need an optimum exchange of information between them. For example, this exchange is difficult and prone to error in the cases that use plaster models, CAD 2D and software tools for prefabrication. In this sense, this article presents F-CAD, a software tool for prefabricated facades, which combines formal freedom during the design with the generation of precise, specialized data for the production. After the successful application of this tool in a GFRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete) facade of a residential tower in Barcelona, F-CAD is ready to be applied in new cases.
