Transport anchors are, as a general rule, utilised for hoisting and transporting precast concrete components. According to national and international stipulations, the load-bearing capacity of transport anchors and systems is to be determined both in an analytical and experimental manner. In this paper, examples of axial tensile tests on transport anchors will be evaluated in order to illustrate clearly the current development in stipulations for transport anchor systems in the Federal Republic of Germany. In practice, assessments of resistance models concerning “perpendicular anchor pull-out” according to German mutual insurance association (BG) regulation 106 as well as VDI/BV-BS 6205 will be set against each other and compared with the computational approaches from current European regulations in force.
