Along with the test for slip resistance properties using the pendulum apparatus specified accord-ing to the European Standards, approximately seventy other methods are used for determining this property in Germany and the rest of the world. The employment liability insurance asso-ciations and accident insurers generally still only recognise the inclined plane method. The exis- tence of more than one set of rules on the slip-resistant properties of surfacing leads inevitably to legal conditions which are not clear and increased costs for the manufacturer and of course of the end user. The following report shows the possibi-lities and limitations in reducing the test costs and optimising the skid resistance properties of the surfaces of concrete products.
