Substances based on cement binding agents have been employed in the form of concrete for decades now as universal or mass building materials for the most diverse applications possible throughout the construction industry. Concrete goods are mostly manufactured industrially in great numbers as mass products in concrete production facilities. Modern manufacturing systems feature very low staffing requirements, continuous utilisation of both machines and plant technology plus inexpensive production procedures. This means great quantities with the minimum production times possible and low manufacturing costs. Cycle times of 10-20 seconds are state-of-the-art in manufacturing paving blocks. The equivalent of one square metre of paving blocks is produced with each cycle.
