The advantages of steel constructions are primarily their high degree of prefabrication and the quick and easy assembly of their elements. Welded joints and bolted joints, in particular, are highly efficient. Complete prefabrication in a dedicated workshop, with qualified personnel working under favourable conditions, ensures the highest level of precision. The use of bolted joints (Fig. 1) allows assembly by ordinary semi-skilled workers in virtually any weather conditions. The joint is guaranteed to have its full frictional connection immediately after assembly. Disassembly after many years of use is more easily possible when bolting techniques are used instead of composite joints.
