Every country with a well-established block paving industry has numerous directives, regulations and guidelines for design, construction and main- tenance plus for the requirements and applications of aggregates and the blocks themselves that represent the state of the art. However, compliance with formal requirements does not guarantee the success of a building project. Only continuous job-site monitoring can prevent construction defects and ensure a long-lasting functional and roadworthy pavement.
