A tunnelling machine has been burrowing through the Lower Inn Valley in Austria since the beginning of July 2007. By 2009, a double track railway tunnel just short 6 km long will have come into existence. The entire stretch will be lined with tunnel segments produced with the latest equipment on site in a mobile field plant. The high quality reinforcement is manufactured on a “Progress” fully automated mesh welding and bending machine.
