Connections to main pipelines still represent the commonest sources of faults on building sites. The consequences of leaks are contamination of the groundwater (exfiltration) or additional load on the sewage treatment plant due to external water (infiltration). Ingrowth of roots due to an improperly connected pipe is just a question of time and leads to blockage of the pipeline.
