Using Self-Compacting Concrete a new placing technique can be realised. In this way, SCC is pumped into the formwork from the bottom and rises due to the applied pressure. In this paper, this placing technique will be presented, together with results from rheological tests and flow tests on SCC. The rheological tests indicate that SCC has a yield stress, shows shear thickening behaviour and has time dependent properties. The flow tests show a non-linear relationship between the pressure and the discharge.
