Real, tumbled old-town pavers are in great demand in the east of England. In the UK building materials company Cemex has been extremely successful in marketing their new real tumbled old town pavers under the patented “Ready Pave” name. British customers mainly want real aged pavers, palisade blocks and wall elements which closely resemble natural stone. Previous sorting and packaging systems for tumbled concrete blocks have been complicated in operation and had considerable manpower requirements. This led to Cemex UK consulting Warning, a German company, in 2007 for a cost/benefit analysis to explore of the acquisition of a mobile sorting and packaging plant for tumbled pavers.
