Discolourations of concrete products

Causes and avoidance

Due to their individual technical and aesthetic creative possibilities, numerous concrete products are used with ever increasing frequency to sustainably create a positive living environment. The customers’ requirements and demands on these products have increased. Small wonder, therefore, that colour differences and discolourations are increasingly causes for complaint. Changes of colour or discolourations occur in almost all products sooner or later, depending on the situation (unprotected in the open air, roofed over, surrounded by trees and bushes), weather influences and mechanical stresses; ultimately, all products are subject to a natural aging process, especially in outdoor areas. The discolourations listed below do not usually impair usability and quality, but are often the cause for complaint for optical reasons.
