Acid-resistant concretes and their use

An alternative to expensive building materials and costly concrete coatings

In recent years the requirements on building materials for industrial steel reinforced concrete structures have risen sharply, since the dimensions of these structures are becoming increasingly large and technically more demanding. The use of special high performance concretes is increasing in importance here. One special requirement is resistance to acids. Concretes with increased resistance to acids are used chiefly in wastewater systems, industrial plants, agricultural construction and for the construction of cooling towers in large power stations.
