After an initial business alliance started in 2020, Schnell and AWM formalised the entry of the Friulian company into the Schnell Group.

Two companies, a new sales venture: AWM, founded in 1987, designs and manufactures high-tech machines for the automatic production of just-in-time reinforcement for the precast industry, such as electro welded mesh machines, lattice girder machines and special plants for the production of tunnels reinforcement. Schnell spa on the other hand, 60 years after its foundation, has become a leading manufacturer of reinforcement wire processing.

Becoming part of the Schnell group opens up great growth opportunities for AWM with the aim of becoming one of the leading players in the precast machinery and plant sector.

The takeover process saw AWM repurchase its own shares by taking over the shareholding of its historical partner, Sidenor Steel Industries (a well-known international steel operator specialised in the production of special steel long items), and then transferring its industrial assets to AWM S.r.l., a company in which Schnell has entered with a 51% majority shareholding.

Susanna and Roberto Bernardinis, already controlling shareholders of AWM S.p.A., will retain a significant shareholding and the position of directors. AWM will thus benefit from Schnell Group’s business network and its expertise in producing fully automated equipment.

Customers of the precast sector will gain from the wealth of know-how and experience of the two companies and their ability to offer modern and efficient reinforcement solutions.
