At the end of 2021, Peikko implemented a pilot project in which a load-bearing frame of concrete elements was installed, dismantled, and reinstalled. Undertaken with its project partners at Vantaa, southern Finland, Peikko aimed to prove that the connection technology between struc- tures enables the easy dismantling and reassembly of concrete elements. The results were clear: applying dismount and reuse to the pilot frame can reduce costs by 35% and embodied carbon by 50%.
