Precast structures make up a consistent part of the building stock in most European countries, especially covering the needs for industrial singlestorey, multi-bay industrial warehouses, storage facilities, or production premises. Precast systems for this field of application are highly competitive, from the point of view of costs, design and construction procedures and performance, with traditional cast-in-situ structures. Nevertheless, it is well recognized that, given their peculiar structural arrangement, special care must be taken as for lateral load resistance and seismic behaviour of these structures.
